Calling Instructions
1. Dial the local access number for your area
2. Enter your PIN number (under the scratch panel on the back of your card)
3. Enter the number you wish to call
Within NZ: Area Code + Telephone number (eg. 09 123 4567)

Access Numbers Explained
Local Access Number
This is a number within your free local calling area; i.e. a number you call without dialling an area code. Using the local access number for your area will give you the best rates. If you cannot call a local access number without dialling the area code, your call to that number will be charged to the phone you are calling from at the prevailing rate from its service provider.

National Convenience Number 015 215
This number is for use when you cannot call one of the 102 local access numbers free of charge, for example when calling from a payphone, motel, hotel, mobile phone and so on. Use of the national convenience number incurs surcharges.

Handy Hints
After dialling the Local Access Number for your town, and entering your PIN number, you can use these shortcuts:

Dial *2 To save or remove the PIN number to the phone you are calling from
Dial *3 Select your announcement language
Dial *4 Internet access (KiaOra card only)
Dial *5 Recharge your Compass Phone Card
Dial *6 Transfer your balance to another card of the same brand
Dial *7 Speed Dial – store your favourite numbers for quick dialling
Dial *9 For rates and announcements

You'll find step by step instructions on activating these features here.

0800, 0900, 018 and 0172 numbers cannot be called using Compass Phone Cards.

Card expiry
The value on Compass phone cards expires between 3 and 12 months after either their first use or the last recharge. To keep your card active, make sure you recharge it within the period of validity. Credit balances are not refundable.

If the value on your card has expired and you have a card that features the Ezi-Pay logo, you can reactivate it by recharging it at any Ezi-Pay enabled retailer. The minimum recharge amount is $1.
